Nose
Smoky, fresh, grapefruit peel, dried apples, maritime notes (brine, kelp, some oysters, iodine), wet limestone, dry grain, hint of menthol, oak
Palate
Sweet, peppery, slightly malty, berry jam, some vanilla, light oaky bitterness, salty notes, lemon zest
Finish
Long, mouthwatering, slightly oaky and ashy, leather notes, gooseberries at the end
Conclusion
Very good Talisker, surprisingly good for 10 yo. Very balanced at every stage, obviously coastal and sweet at the same time. Really tasty dram but quite “heavy” - seems to be not very suitable for summer time. Taking into account its price - one of the best whiskies of this age on the market.
