Rich and leathery, with smoky hints. Dark chocolate fudge cake, Eccles cake raisins, nutmeg-infused Christmas biscuits and salted caramel are joined by black treacle and black pepper spice.

Sweet and spicy, with fruit cake, blackcurrant jam and cinnamon toast first on the palate. Darker notes develop, with liquorice, ground coffee and hints of barrel char balanced out by bittersweet dark chocolate ganache and cocoa nibs.

Long, with bitter char and coffee slowly sweetening to reveal baked apples and black liquorice.

Dark and rich, with heavy sherry influence from the off. However, the sweet and fruity Amrut spirit isn’t silenced by the cask, and dances on top of the darker notes.
