A limited release and an exciting first for all of us at Bunnahabhain Distillery, with our whisky makers experimenting with French brandy casks to finish our Moine (peated) spirit.
Matured in our warehouses sitting on the Sound of Islay, the whisky has matured for 9 years in Spanish sherry wood and then finished for 3 years in French brandy casks under the watchful eye of our distillery team and Senior Blender, Dr Kirstie McCallum.
The result is truly distinctive, Kirstie has married the rich grape and dried fruit flavours of the brandy with the nutty sweet smoky character of our Moine.
We have added some nice wee pieces of detail in terms of distillation date, bottle numbers and warehouse numbers for those that wish to make the trip to see us to see where their whisky was stored!
