The Forty Creek distillery is located in Grimsby, Ontario –halfway between Niagara Falls and Toronto. The Niagara region is home to many beautiful and historically significant cities and towns – and Grimsby is certainly one of them. Founded in 1790, Grimsby was formerly named ‘The Forty’, since the river running through the centre of town was exactly 40 miles away from Niagara Falls. Today, that river is named Forty Mile Creek – and it is the body of water that inspired the name of our whiskies. What makes Grimsby even more special is that it is nestled in the heart of Canada’s Niagara region – renowned for its unique geography and climate. The region is best known as home to many of Canada’s leading wine makers, but at Forty Creek Whisky we are working to establish it as an area also recognized for crafting world-class Spirits.
