Tasting note
This whisky shines in a light golden color.
When your nose first gets a blow of this whisky, you feel like Ocean winds come straight at you, who are sitting in a tiny nutshell, waves gently rolling around you. A lot of salty air and oak, as well as some peat and quite a bit of cold smoke is in its nose.
For the palate, the Highland Park will coat your whole mouth in a soft feel, without missing out on having a little bite here and there. However, as soon as you add a SINGLE drop of water, it will be tame as a purring cat. You taste the aromas you'd expect from the nosing, accompanied by some charcoal. Less prominently, I seem to find some hints of caramel.
For the finish, this whisky will leave the taste of peppery spices and grain.
All in all a pretty simple, but great whisky!
