Geur:: Sweet, rich dried fruits (raisins, dates), dark toffee, cardamom and cloves, blood oranges, damp oak, light rubbery smoke. Water releases buttery notes and intensifies sherry
Smaak:: Medium-sweet, peppery, slightly minerally, blackberry marmalade, dark chocolate, oak with light bitterness, caramelized orange peel, hint of cinnamon
Afdronk:: Long, somewhat dry, oaky with notes of dark berries and raisins with light bitterness
Conclusie:: Wonderful whisky with Springbank’s signature gentle smokiness and beautiful sherryness. Despite of modest age it shows a superb balance as well as some complexity. Besides those formal words it’s simply tasty. If I could find a bottle I would buy it without any doubts.
