Amrut Greedy Angels
Review by Amrut
- Nose
How odd: matured inland, yet distinctly coastal in its light saltiness. This sits wonderfully well with the most delicate of blood orange notes... which after a while sweetens towards a Jaffa cake middle. The spices hint and tease while the vanilla fades in and out, taking turns with thin ulmo honey: perfection.
- Palate
Soft delivery with the accent at first jointly shared between the barley and vanilla, then the oak takes control moving towards a lightly spiced cocoa. Elsewhere a thin layer of ulmo honey secures the required sweetness.
- Finish
Some tangy orange returns, a distant echo of spice hangs off the persistent barley oil.
