Big Peat Christmas 2012
Review by Big Peat
- Nose
Opens with a burnt, yet simultaniously sweet quality – imagine honey covered burnt toast. Then a salty, sea breeze character drifts together with bonfire smoke.
- Palate
The initial massively sweet character is quickly overtaken by chimney soot and ashes – coating your palate with smoke, soft tar and salty liquorice.
- Finish
Long with lingering damp bonfire ashes and a burnt home baked quality - still peaty but with a sweet vanilla’d style apparent.
- Note
-
A windswept Big Peat looks rather chilly, as he braces the night sky and Islay winds. This year, his Christmas Edition No. 2 was bottled at 53.6%, and his festive spirit showed a particularly sooty character.
