Geur

Gorgeous depth - fruit salad (plums, nectarines, old pears, Muscat grapes), marzipan (and almond oil), the burnt skin of chestnuts roasting, coconut oil, real richness. A very small amount of water brings up the nose and freshens it: wonderfully aromatic, complex and well integrated.

Smaak

A whole box of liqueur chocolates concentrated into a tasting glass. Dark chocolate, variously filled with coffee and cherry liqueurs. Perhaps even peppermint. Smooth, sweet, some wax, some nutty (almond flavours). Drinks very well straight, but a tiny drop of water smoothes out the finish.

Afdronk

Mellow, very long-lasting. Remains fragrant for some time. Dark rum in the aftertaste.

Notitie

Deep amber and a rich, smooth, luxurious body. Very old whiskies can be far too woody, but this has stood up astonishingly well and is full of interest. A wonderfully mellow, complex, highly aromatic whisky, with a lovely flavour. As good as it gets. "Beyond price - as I'm sure it will be!"
