Talisker 20 year old 1982
Review by Talisker
- Nose
Some nose-prickle; charred toast and seaweed, traces of oil and over-ripe fruit. Scorched earth. Harbour aromas. Water brings up salt, spice. It has a Ônose warming' effect even when reduced.
- Palate
Hot, peppery. Distant thunder. Seems to rumble and reverberate as the volcanic heat builds ever so slowly. Hot and salty when tasted straight, with smoke in the finish. Leaves the lips tingling. With water it becomes smooth and oily, nice balance of primary tastes, including saltiness.
- Finish
A thunderflash. Medium to long, with a noticeable light smokiness at the back.
- Note
-
A very 'maritime' example with plenty of Talisker character. Amber, with a green tinge. Medium to full bodied. Firm. Mighty impressive. Hot stuff.
