Bruichladdich Single Cask 71
Review by Bruichladdich
- Colour
Light Gold/Soft Yellow.
- Nose
Green apple, apricot, ripe bananas and pear drops.
- Palate
Sweet oak and crunchy nutty malted barley. Throughout the soft floral notes of Mimosa, buttercup and Lily continue to rise and intermingle beautifully with the other flavours. Clean and fantastically fresh!
- Finish
An educational cask, chosen from the hottest and driest part of the warehouse as a stand alone example to compare with a similar cask matured in the cooler more humid environment of the warehouse floor.
- Conclusion
Matured in Warehouse 14, Rack 21, Row K, the highest position, 50 feet from floor level. Distilled from Golden Promise barley, matured in refill American oak cask, bottled at 53.0%.
- Note
-
The Micro-provenance series is unique to Bruichladdich and is conceived as a series of individual cask bottlings, individually selected by master distiller Jim McEwan to explore the fine nuances of the Bruichladdich spirit and the effects of warehousing, oak, cask and micro-climate on maturing spirit.
This, Cask 71, is a 1992 Bruichladdich bottled at 17 years, with full-term Bourbon oak maturation. Bottled at a cask strength of 53.9%, and available only on this website or at the distillery.
