Glen Ord 30 year old
Review by Glen Ord
- Nose
Rich, spicy fruit (think plums in syrup, preserved lemons) and sweet nuttiness (pecans). A scented, waxy note too, with light smoke, like Darjeeling tea. Water brings up the scented sweetness, without changing the nose overall.
- Palate
Rich, sweet and lightly spiced with a floral lift. Light citrus acidity, drying to ginger.
- Finish
Rich, sweet and lightly spiced with a floral lift. Light citrus acidity, drying to ginger.
- Note
-
Rich, sweetly fruity and scented malt with good balance. Full gold in colour and light to medium bodied. A fine old example of the old-fashioned Highland style; and excellent all-purpose malt.
