Glenmorangie 16 year old The Tribute
Review by Glenmorangie
- Colour
Deep bronze
- Nose
Fresh cut flowers, subtle smoke, hints of vanilla, a distinctive mossy/grassy note, along with some curious candy/Parma violets, and the tiniest hint of lemon and orange. With water, a burst of beeswax followed by aniseed and char, along with a distinctive menthol/eucalyptus note.
- Palate
A smooth texture leads in to an impression of smoked vanilla cream, pears, almonds and some star anise. The classic Glenmorangie sweetness is ever present, but this is intermingled with fennel, bitter almonds, zesty grapefruit and salted fudge.
- Finish
A medium-length finish with a light peat touch, fading in to more classic Glenmorangie citrus fruit, sweet vanilla, toffee and oak smoke.
- Note
-
There was a time when peat was the main source of fuel at Glenmorangie, giving our spirit a noticeably smoky style. To celebrate our heritage, I distilled a rare, lightly peated spirit with a hint of smoke. Aged in bourbon casks and united with Glenmorangies signature spirit, our Tributes citrus smoothness and rounded flavours are a zesty nod to the past.
