Walnuts, a trace of sherry and perhaps a hint of ripe plums and pine.
- Palate
Linseed oil, Oloroso sherry and some light caramel and spice. Hint of sandalwood.
- Finish
Full and sweet, with a dry/bitter finish. Mixed spice and chilli pepper. Hint of oak wood.
- Note
-
In April 1998 expert panels from around the world tasted four cask-strength Highland Park whiskies.
This event formed one of the first online tastings. After two weeks of tasting and nosing the clear winner was the 1974. Highland Park was the first distillery to produce a whisky for purchase based on the results of an online tasting.
