The Ledaig 18 year old represents the rebirth of the style of malt whisky that would have originally been produced at the distiller.
In 1996, Master Distiller, Ian MacMillan, inspired by the traditional style of single malts Scotch whisky that would have been originally distilled on the island of Mull, started distilling Ledaig for the first time since the distillery re-opened after it’s final quiet period in 1990.
With a Spanish sherry wood cask finish this single malt creates a copper gold colour that balances many efflorescent and sweet scents with a smoky finish and an ever so slight hint of liquorice.
