Royal Lochnagar Distillers Edition
Review by Royal Lochnagar

- Colour
Rich amber, with polished copper tones.
- Nose
Immediate strawberry jam, bags of jelly babies, then a richly malty heart with malt loaf and Dundee cake. With water, sweeter (rich fresh fruit aromas, as in a village fruit shop) and a hint of almond oil.
- Palate
Oily. Fruity, with a silky cereal smoothness.
- Finish
Soft and biscuity, as with old-fashioned fig rolls. Lovely late warmth.
- Note
-
Each Distillers Edition expression undergoes a second (or ‘double’) maturation in casks that have previously held a fortified wine. Carefully matched for a second maturation in Muscat casks.
