Royal Lochnagar Selected Reserve

- Colour
Deep amber.
- Nose
Deep and complex. Green and mossy, with brambles, damson jam; sawn wood and mint-fresh pine resin; behind lie deep toffee notes (treacle toffee?) and beyond that a freshness that balances the wood. Changes and develops continually. With water, varnish advances, as in an artist’s studio. Some coffee grounds, toffee, baked apple tart. Overall, sweet and deep. With slightly more water, a waft of dry sherry.
- Palate
Smooth mouthfeel. Fresh wood notes (sawdust). Hint of sweetness, drying quickly.
- Finish
Sharp, well balanced.
- Note
-
Rich and perfect for enjoying after dinner, this is an elegant and sophisticated malt for the connoisseur. All bottles are individually numbered to make this an extra special gift.
