Review by The Dalmore
- Nose
Orange rind, marzipan and peaches
- Palate
Vanilla, crushed spice and candied fruits
- Finish
Liquorice and ginger.
- Note
-
After an initial period of 22 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, the 1981 Matusalem is aged for six years in Matusalem oloroso sherry butts from Gonzalez Byass. This period gifts the whisky with qualities of one of the world’s greatest wines.
